What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness induced through language, involving changes in perception and attention. We naturally access similar states daily, such as when we are absorbed in a creative activity, a campfire, or a movie.

Under hypnosis, the rational mind steps back slightly, allowing the unconscious to emerge. These two parts then communicate more fluidly, making it easy to access oneself as well as one’s inner resources.

And the unconscious?

The unconscious is the part of our mind where everything we've accumulated since birth resides. It absorbs everything it receives and influences most of our reactions, patterns, emotions, and ways of perceiving the world.

By communicating more directly with the unconscious through the hypnotic state, it is possible to provide it with new stories, beliefs, and experiences that can change how we experience life.

During hypnosis, you remain conscious. You can think, perceive and speak. You can choose what you share and what you keep to yourself. You can choose what to tell me and what to keep to yourself and can refuse any exercise you don’t wish to do. You can feel certain sensations, which vary from person to person. These include a state of well-being, muscular relaxation, changes in the notion of time, more access to your imagination, emerging emotions, changes in your breath, easier access to solutions and spontaneity, and more.

What is the participative approach in hypnotherapy?

My approach is participative, client-driven and consent-based. Under hypnosis, your role will not be passive. You will explore different landscapes within your imagination where you will be encouraged to speak, describe your experience and make decisions.

Your unconscious will naturally guide you to where you need to go — it knows what needs to be seen, welcomed, or transformed. And I will be there to support you through the process.

This participative approach not only makes it easy to connect with your imagination and creativity but also to exercise your capacity for action, both under hypnosis and in your everyday life.
